Hellen Fong owns and runs At Nineteen Culinary Studio, a cooking school offering cooking and baking classes for adults, teenagers and children of any culinary ability. She has also co-authored a cookbook, Lost Recipes of Malaysia, together with her chefs from the cooking school. This cookbook has been nominated to represent Malaysia to compete in the 2015 World Gourmand Cookbook Awards in China in June for the Best in the World – Historical Recipes category.

Hellen is a business and finance graduate with a Masters in Finance from University of Nottingham. She worked in the financial industry for more than a decade and left her last general manager position in the consumer banking division of a local Malaysian bank to pursue her culinary passion. She wrote financial articles for Smart Investor and Personal Money magazines as well as restaurant reviews for the latter.

At Nineteen Culinary Studio has been featured in newspapers like The Star, New Straits Times, Berita Harian, Utusan Malaysia, Nanyang Siang Pau, China Press and many lifestyle and food magazines including Flavours, Her World, Natural Health, TimeOutKL. MAS’ inlfight magazine, Going Places, listed At Nineteen Culinary Studio’s Macarons baking class as one of the must-do activities when in Malaysia. Firefly’s inflight magazine, Kunang-Kunang, listed At Nineteen Culinary Studio as one of the top four cooking schools in Kuala Lumpur to whip up a meal.
